Obituary for David A. "Dave" Zink

David A. "Dave"  Zink
David A. "Dave" Zink, age 56, of Murphysboro, passed away at 2:48 p.m. Tuesday April 29,2008, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
David was born on July 1, 1951, in Ferdinand, Indiana, to Francis Zink and Alberta Zink.
He was a carpenter and worked for Ron Gobin Construction in Murphysboro.
Mr. Zink was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local # 640, Metropolis, IL.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with his niece.
Dave served in the United States Army.
He married Henrietta "Retta" Mason on August 16, 1991, in DeSoto, Illinois, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother Alberta Zink of Ferdinand, IN;
four stepchildren Clifton Decker of Murphysboro, Shane Decker and his wife Dee Decker of Benton, IL, Martin Decker and his girlfriend Jamie of Royalton, IL, and Waylon Decker and his wife Mandy of Murphysboro;
a niece that he loved dearly Brooke Fite;
eight step grandchildren;
two brothers and five sisters Lee Zink of Robinson, IL, Brian Zink of Rossville, IN, Sharon Leggans of Murphysboro, Jeanie Zink of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Sylvia Stemle of Montgomery, AL, Elaine Parker of West Field, IN, and Vicki Meyer of Ferdinand, IN;
four brothers-in-law Willie Mason, George Mason and his wife Betty Mason, Raymond Mason and his wife Barbara, and Charlie Mason and his wife Cathy, all of Murphysboro;
two sisters-in-law Mary Tucker and her husband Ray of Murphysboro, and Edith Stevens of El Paso, IL.
Dave was preceded in death by his father Francis Zink, two brothers Kenneth Zink and Thomas Zink and one sister in law Helen McGee.
