Obituary for June Ripley Ivy (Johnson)
June Ripley Ivy, age 84, of Oraville, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 24, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2009, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Percy Pavloff officiating and burial at Salem Cemetery at Creal Springs. Friends may 12 noon Sunday at the funeral home.
June was born on June 29, 1925, at Ozark, Illinois, to Allen and Mary Johnson.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the DuQuoin Christian Fellowship in DuQuoin, Illinois.
June married Charles D. Ripley on March 27, 1942, in Perryville, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on November 3, 1997.
She then married Louie V. Ivy on August 11, 1999 in Vienna, Illinois and he survives.
Other survivors include three daughters Mary Eileen Pierson of Grand Tower, Charlotte Ann Pierson of Carbondale, and Ida Marie Rennison and her husband Steve Rennison of Murphysboro;
twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren;
six step children Delores Ellis of Mt. Carmel, Melba Allen of Grayville, Bobby Ivy of Mt. Carmel, Chasity Ivy of Kansas City, MO, Louie Ivy, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, and Jackie Barnett of Molla, Oregon;
several grandchildren and great and great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, one great grandson, one half sister and one half brother.
