Obituary for Mary Jane Rees (Tindall)

Mary Jane (Tindall) Rees, 96, of Murphysboro, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 10, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Mary Jane was born on June 14, 1922, in Murphysboro, to Harry D. Tindall and Edna Ann (White) Tindall.

She had retired as administrator of the Jackson County Department of Public Aid after working thirty two years.

Mrs. Rees was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Murphysboro. She was a life member of the American Legion Post # 127 Ladies Auxiliary and also with the V.F.W. Post # 7190 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a very proud and honored member of the Republican Party.

Mary Jane married James "Jim" Rees on July 25 1964, in Anna, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on October 2, 2018.

She is survived by two daughters Patty Bateman of Murphysboro, Pamela Golliher-Allen and her husband John Stephen Allen of Myrtle Beach, SC;

one son William Edward Golliher of Grand Tower;

one daughter in law Janet Golliher of Anna;

four grandchildren Megan Allen (Brent) Teeters of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kirsten Allen of Atlanta, GA, William Golliher, Jr., and Gloria Golliher;

five great grandchildren including Grayson Teeters;

two nieces Julie (John) Erbes and Debra Tindall, all of Murphysboro;

and two great nephews Andrew Erbes and Aaron Erbes, both of Murphysboro.

She was preceded in death by one son James Dean Golliher, one son in law Randy Bateman, one great grandson Jordan Golliher, one brother Jim Tindall, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2018, at Pettett Funeral Home and burial at Murdale Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
