William "Boog" Smith Shockley, Jr., 49, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:02 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.

William was born on June 10, 1969, in Carbondale, Illinois, to William S. Shockley, Sr. and Velma (Allison) Shockley.

"Boog" enjoyed riding his mini bike. He loved playing the guitar and music.

He is survived by three brothers Ralph Aaron Service of Danville, Leslie Stoops of Murphysboro, and Michael (Patty) Stoops of Royalton;

two sisters Diane (Daniel) Holmes of Grand Tower and Peggie (John) Harland of Murphysboro;

and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Joyce Morris and LouAnn Tackitt.

Gravesite services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2018, at Dutch Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Richard Pyatt. There will be a visitation from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the cemetery. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
