Kathryn E. Roberts, 73, of Carbondale, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.

Kathryn was born on May 26, 1945, in Jackson County, Illinois, to John J. Lee and Evelyn (Madden) Lee.

Mrs. Roberts had worked at Memorial Hospital in Environmental Services for at least fourteen years.

Kathryn loved being with her family, and the love of her life was her great grandbabies. She loved her dog, going shopping and going out to eat.

She married Joseph "Little Joe" Roberts on December 22, 1964, in Perryville, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on March 11, 2005.

Survivors include two children Joseph E. Roberts, Jr. and Julie Cross of Carbondale, and Kathy Jo and Craig Raney of DuQuoin;

two grandchildren Chet (Kristin) Snyder and Cassandra (Travis) Ince;

and two great grandchildren Kaylen and Owen.

She was preceded in death by one brother Billy "Sonny" Lee and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Pettett Funeral Home and burial at Ava Evergreen. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
