Obituary for James "Jim" Leroy Rees

James "Jim"  Leroy  Rees
James "Jim" Leroy Rees, 83, of Murphysboro, passed away at 11:11 a.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois.

James was born on July 12, 1935, in Denmark, Illinois, to Elza Rees and Eva (Moore) Rees.

He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Rees had worked as a electrician in construction and was a member of I.B.E.W. Local # 702 in West Frankfort.

He was a member of the Elk's Lodge in Murphysboro.

Jim married Mary Jane Tindall on July 25, 1964, Anna, Illinois, and she survives.

Other survivors include one daughter Patty Bateman of Murphysboro;

one step daughter Pamela Golliher-Allen and her husband (Steve Allen) of Myrtle Beach, SC and one step son William Golliher of Grand Tower;

one step daughter in law Janet Golliher of Anna;

two grandchildren Megan (Brent) Allen-Teeters of Myrtle Beach, SC and Kirsten Allen of Atlanta, GA;

one great grandson Grayson Teeters;

one sister Judy Mitchell of Modesto, CA, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one step son Dean Golliher, one son in law Randy Bateman, eleven brothers and sisters, and his parents.

Funeral services will held at 12 noon Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Pettett Funeral Home with Michael Williams officiating and burial at Murdale Gardens of Memory with military services conducted by the American Legion Paul Stout Post # 127.
