Ronald L. Hamilton, 55, of Murphysboro and formerly of Coal City and Carbon Hill area, passed away at 6:25 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Ronald was born on August 3, 1963, in Morris, Illinois, to Paul E. Hamilton and Melba L. (Grosvenor) Hamilton.

He was a pipefitter and a member of the Pipefitters Local # 597 in Chicago.

Mr. Hamilton was a member of The Ridge Church near Carbondale.

He was an avid Cardinals fan and he liked to fish.

Ron is survived by his father Paul of Murphysboro;

one brother and sister in law Robert W. and Suzanne Hamilton of Coal City, IL;

three nieces and one nephew: Tamara L. (David) Crater, Brooke (Kevin) Young, and Shawn (Nichole) Hamilton, all of Coal City, IL and Hope Ann (Michael) Parks, of Crawfordsville, IN;

and nine great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, one brother and sister in law Terry and Carol Hamilton, one sister Janice Hamilton, and his grandparents Clarence and Mamie Hamilton and Lester and Anna Grosvenor.

Grave site services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Glenn Cemetery near Raddle with Rev. Wes Henson officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m at Pettett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
