Obituary for Stephen D. Jines

Stephen D. Jines, 66, of Herrin, formerly of Murphysboro, passed away at his residence in Herrin, Illinois.
at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2018.

Stephen was born on February 6, 1952, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Joe Jines and Eileen (Drake) Jines.

He had served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

Mr. Jines was a hardworking truck driver working for several vending companies in Southern Illinois. He had also worked for the I.C.G. Railroad.

He was a member of the Murphysboro Elk's Lodge and the Moose Lodge. He was a former longtime member of the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127. He loved all types of music, to play softball, and drive his vet. He enjoyed NASCAR and WWE and scary movies. He liked to BBQ, feed birds, do woodworking and be outside. He loved his "Busch beer and pork rinds".

Stephen married Kathryn (Enerva) on January 19, 2002, in Murphysboro, and she survives.

Other survivors include five children Stevie (Michelle) Jines, Davy (Jamie) Jines, and Mikey Jines, all of Murphysboro, Christopher (Rachel) Bordenet and Anthony Bordenet, all of Arizona;

six grandchildren Branden Bodah, Stephanie Jines, Sarah Jines, Alex Jines, Trevor Jines, and Mikey Jines;

and one great granddaughter Elena Rose.

He was preceded in death by three brothers Richard Jines, Mike Jines, and Joe Jines, two sisters Betty Staffey and Judy Bitner, and his parents.

His body will be cremated and a Grave site will be held in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018, with Rev. Milton Bost officiating, with Military Services to follow conducted by the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc.
