Obituary for Doris Ann Lyerla (Clinton)
Doris Ann Lyerla, 91, of Murphysboro, passed away at 12:29 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois.
Doris was born on March 7, 1927, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to Ernest Clinton and Anna (Bauer) Clinton.
She was a homemaker and she loved her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She enjoyed watching TV, working word search puzzles, and was a St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Doris married Jack Lyerla on May 1, 1946, in Piggott, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2005.
She is survived by one daughter and son in law Jean and Mike Clough of Murphysboro;
two grandsons Dr. Timothy Clough of Arlington, Mass. and David Clough and his wife Lauren Clough of Murphysboro;
one great granddaughter Samantha Clough of Murphysboro;
two sisters in law Mary Ruth Clinton of Wentsville, Missouri and Arbah Jo Weston of Valmeyer, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother Robert J. Clinton, one sister Geraldine Ellis, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018, at Pettett Funeral Home and burial at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
