Bill L. Cripps, 86, of Murphysboro, passed away at 9 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

Bill was born on June 12, 1931, in Jackson County, Illinois, to Marvin and Helen Cripps.

He worked as an automobile mechanic and working on cars was his life.

Bill married Evelyn White on December 12, 1957, in Perryville, Missouri, and she preceded him in death on December 14, 2015.

Survivors include one daughter and son in law Carolyn and Ervin Collier of Carbondale;

six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren;

and one brother Gene Cripps of Murphysboro.

He was preceded in death by one son Billy Jr. Cripps, one daughter Linda Reed, and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Peggy Camp officiating and burial at Crain Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
