Obituary for Michael "Skip" Leroy Gale

Michael L. "Skip" Gale, 69, of Gorham, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the V.A. Medical Center at Marion, Illinois.

Michael was born on July 4, 1948, in Gorham, Illinois, to Norman Leroy Gale and Norma Lea (Gulley) Gale.

He had worked as an automobile mechanic.

Mr. Gale served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 127.

Skip loved his horse and was a member of the former Devil Backbone Saddle Club.

He is survived by his companion Judi Provoe of Gorham and her children Shelley (Jason) Royer, and Nicci Provoe, all of Murphysboro, and Gene (Erin) Bandy of Corpus Christi, TX, and her four grandchildren;

one half brother Aaron Gale, one half sister Patty Gale, and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gravesite military services will be conducted by the Paul Stout American Legion Post # 127 and will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 6, 2018, at St. Andrew Cemetery, Murphysboro. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
