Louanne Mary Tackitt, 54, of Makanda, passed away at 3:20 pm Monday, March 12, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
Louanne was born on June 8, 1963, in Manchester, TN, to William Shockley and Velma Iona (Allison) Shockley.
She was a homemaker. She used to do embroidery work. She enjoyed collecting Barbies and Avon keepsakes. She also enjoyed going to yard sales and going shopping. She especially loved Christmas and she would see to it that everyone would have a present.
Louanne married David E. Tackitt on May 5, 2006, in Jackson County, Illinois, and he survives.
Other survivors include 2 daughters Mary Scholz of Gorham and Lalanna (Alan) Bean of Mt. Vernon, IL;
one son Leonard Leroy Scholz, Jr. of Gorham;
four brothers Leslie Stoops of Murphysboro, Michael Stoops of Royalton, Ralph Service of Danville, IL and William Shockley, Jr. of Murphysboro;
two sisters Peggy Harland of Murphysboro and Diana Holmes of Grand Tower.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Joyce Morris.
Gravesite services will be held at 1 pm Friday, March 16, 2018 at Dutch Ridge Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
