Obituary for Virginia D. Barnes Reddick (Honey)

Virginia D. Barnes Reddick, 81, formerly of Dupo, passed away at 12:40 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018, at the DuQuoin Nursing and Rehab in DuQuoin, Illinois.

Virginia was born on November 21, 1936, in Tamms, Illinois, to J. B. Honey and Effie (Marlen) Honey.

She had worked most of her life as a beautician and a seamstress. She could make or sew anything and she especially liked butterflies. She was also a care sitter for the elderly for several years. She also was a rose gardener.

Mrs. Reddick was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dupo.

She is survived by one son Phillip (Lisa) Reddick of Florissant, MO;

one sister Faith Ann (Bruce) Feltmeyer of NC;

three nieces Karen Castle and Debra Sarensen of Vergennes, Pam Jackson of Carpentersville, IL, Erin Feltmeyer of TX; and one nephew Rod (Stacy) Honey of McKinney, TX.

She was preceded in death by both of her husbands William Barnes and Bill Reddick, two brothers Norman Honey and Rawland Honey, and her parents.

As per her request her body will be cremated and there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the Shriner's Children's Hospital. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
