Obituary for Murl Henry Reiman

Murl Henry  Reiman
Murl Henry Reiman, 84, of Murphysboro, passed away at 3:22 a.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Union Hospital in Terra Haute, Indiana.

Murl was born on September 14, 1933, in Murphysboro, to Joseph Arden Reiman and Maude "Babe" (Imhoff) Reiman.

He had served from 1951 to 1953 in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Germany.

Murl was an honorary member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 318 in Marion.

He was a machinist with a mind of an engineer. Anytime, anyone needed anything fixed or made, he could take anything apart and fix it, take things that were broken or worn out and fix them, or make what he needed to mend what had been broken.

Mr. Reiman was a member of the Camp Creek Baptist Church. He liked to go hunting and fishing.

He married Shirley A. Morber on March 24, 1962, in Murphysboro and she survives.

Other survivors include four children Cheryl Ann Rose and her husband Ted Rose, Cynthia Diane Reiman and Murl Joseph Reiman and his wife Peggy Reiman, all of Murphysboro, and Matthew Steven Reiman and his wife Jenny Reiman of Belleville;

six grandchildren Megan (Adam) Sollman, Mitchell Rose and his fiancée Ashley, Ben (Kristin) Reiman, Sarah Reiman, Taylor Reiman, and Henry Reiman;

one great grandchild Elliot Sollman and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Pettett Funeral Home and burial at Mt. Joy Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Creek Baptist Church or to Mt. Joy Cemetery.
