Obituary for Peggy Lou Maynor (Volner)
Peggy Lou Maynor, 81, of Murphysboro, passed away at 7:49 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Marshall-Browning Hospital in DuQuoin, Illinois.
Peggy was born on April 11, 1936, in Murphysboro, to Audy Volner and Marie (Gillooly) Volner.
She had worked as a housekeeper at the former Styrest Nursing Home in Carbondale.
Peggy married Roy Kent Maynor on March 6, 1964 in Murphysboro, and he preceded her in death on March 6, 1991.
She is survived by one sister Mary Kay Volner of Murphysboro, seven nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, one nephew and her parents.
Gravesite services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park with Rev. Gary Darnell officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
