Carol Ann (Dycus) Lang, 69, of Murphysboro, passed away at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Carbondale Memorial Hospital.
Carol was born on October 26, 1948, in Herrin, Illinois, to William "Bill" Dycus and Helena "Alice" (Armes) Dycus.
She was retired as a caseworker with the Franklin-Williamson County Department of Human Services.
Mrs. Lang was an artist. She was most known for her creations under the name Carol's Gourds that she would show and sell at the John A. Logan Autumn Fest and at the Apple Festival.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and she loved her family very much.
Carol married Jeff Lang on October 26, 1990, in Marion, and he survives.
Other survivors include her daughter Kimberly (Willis) Mueller and her husband Michael Mueller of Murphysboro;
one step son Jeffery Matthew Lang and his wife Mary Lang of Carterville;
two grandchildren Madison Mueller and Blake Mueller, both of Murphysboro;
one step grandson Jeffrey Maddox Lang of Carterville;
two sisters Janie Peak and Eadie McLain;
two nieces and their families Jandie Gill and Cahrrie Corprew;
and one nephew Jaceon Peak.
She was preceded in death by one nephew Jimmy Peak and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Carroll Toler officiating and burial at St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and until 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sandra's Comfort, Inc. 7 Dilday Road, Rockwood, IL 62280.
