Obituary for Nancy Mae Poole (Mann)

Nancy Mae Poole, 71, of Carbondale, passed away at 11:34 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at her residence in Carbondale, Illinois.

Nancy was born on July 8, 1946, in Illinois, to Raymond E. Mann and Mildred B. (Kirkpatrick) Mann.

She had worked as a secretary at the Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

Mrs. Poole was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Commerce City, CO. She was a member of the Eagles.

Nancy loved to cook, sew, garden and to especially fish.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Tracey Poole.

She raised her two granddaughers as her children, so she is survived by two daughters Jennifer Poole of Cambria and Deana Hathaway of Carbondale

five grandchildren Braxton Hafaner of Colorado, Hunter Poole, Kaya Smith, Nathan Gaddis, Jr. and Madalyna Gaddis;

one brother Dan Mann and his wife Andrea Mann of Murphysboro; one sister LeeAnn Hearold of Henderson, CO;

four nieces Jo Lynn, Sue Ella, Mandy and Amy and two nephews Kenny and Michael;

and her dogs Gizmo, Little Bit, Prince, Mia, Oreo, and Beethoven.

She was preceded in death by one brother Raymond Mann, and her parents.

Her body will be cremated and a gravesite service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017, at the Zeigler Cemetery with Brother Denny Bush officiating. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
