Raymond "Butch" E. Pritchett
Raymond E. "Butch" Pritchett, 73, of Murphysboro, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2017, at the Jonesboro Nursing Home in Jonesboro, Illinois.
Butch was born on December 9, 1943, in Carbondale, to Woodrow Eugene Pritchett and Mildred (Durham) Pritchett.
After high school, Butch went to work for Prairie Farms, and he moved to Chicago, where he then became a carpenter apprentice. He owned Tri County Builders in Murphysboro for twenty years. He was a member of the Carpenter's Local # 638. He owned and operated Butch and Tracy's Corner Tavern in Murphysboro. He also had sold real estate for several years with McGregor Real Estate
Mr. Pritchett was a Mason and a Shriner. He was also a member of the Elk's Lodge, the Moose Lodge, the American Legion Post # 127, the Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and the Carbon Lake Club.
Butch is survived by four children Ryan "Ryno" Pritchett and his wife Britni Pritchett of Murphysboro, Billie Rae "Sis" Phillips and her husband Jeff Phillips of DuQuoin, Jamie Ann Ferguson and her husband Johnny of Caruthersville, MO, and Roni Sue Sisk and her husband Tony Sisk of Houston, TX;
seven grandchildren Braxton Pritchett, Isabella Phillips, Olivia Phillips, Jake Ferguson, Josie Ferguson, Casey Sisk and Cody Sisk;
one brother Carl Pritchett and his companion Joyce Yearian of Murphysboro;
Alice Brewer of DeSoto, companion of his deceased brother Ernie;
several nieces and nephews; and lots of friends.
He was preceded in death by one brother Charles Eugene "Ernie" Pritchett and his parents.
The Masonic Service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017, the Elks Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m., and a funeral service will follow at 7:15 p.m. at Pettett Funeral Home.
