Obituary for Mary L. Ealey (McCree)
Mary L. Ealey, 92, of Olney and formerly of the Carterville area, went to be with her Lord at 7:45 p.m. Sunday, July 30, 2017, at the Burgin Manor Nursing Home in Olney, Illinois.
Mary was born on December 16, 1924, in Carterville, Illinois, to Dennis McCree and Lena (Newell) McCree.
She and her husband worked together and owned Ealey's Jewelry in Olney. Mary used to paint paintings.
Mrs. Ealey was a very active member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Olney.
Mary married James Ealey on May 8, 1948, in Carterville, and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2005.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters in law , Mike and Judy Ealey of Mt. Vernon, IL, Dave and Cecelia Ealey of Murphysboro, and Kenny Ealey of Olney;
eight grandchildren April (Travis) Hertenstein, Bryn (David Kazmir) Ealey, Hailey Ealey, David Agre, Candace (John) Peterson, Amanda (Kyle) Clinton, James (Amanda Barnfield) Ealey, and Chrissy (Jeff) Wiggs;
five great grandchildren Carter Hertenstein, Reese Hertenstein, Emma Peterson, John Michael Wiggs and William Wiggs;
and one sister Elva Anderson of Marion.
She was preceded in death by thirteen siblings and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Cambria Christian Church with Pastor Jeff Wiggs officiating and burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery at Carterville. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cambria Christian Church. For more information, please visit www.pettettfuneralhome.com.
