Obituary for Lana June Johnson
Lana June Johnson, 64, of Collinsville, passed away at her sister's home in Campbell Hill at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2017.
Lana was born on November 30, 1952, in Murphysboro, to Austin Floyd Johnson and Rachel Juanita (Robinson) Johnson.
She had worked in residential cleaning.
Lana was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Carbondale, where she loved working with children and was always ready to volunteer to help in anyway. She liked to do crafts. She loved her nieces and nephews like her own.
She is survived by one daughter Carrie Johnson of Collinsville;
nine siblings and their spouses Euba and Walter Crane, Gene and Lillian Johnson, Andy and Carol Johnson and Austin and Lisa Johnson, all of Murphysboro, Bob and Cindy Johnson of DeSoto, Gary and Mary Johnson of Ava, Frank and Sandy Johnson of Pomona, Herb and Kathy Johnson of Dowell, and Mona and Fred Froemling of Campbell Hill;
many nieces and nephews;
and her step mother Bonnie Johnson of Pinckneyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Sean Burke officiating and burial at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of Southern Illinois, Inc.
