Obituary for Charles Nolan Fager

Charles Nolan  Fager
Charles Nolan Fager, 62, passed away at his residence in Murphysboro at 10:20 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016.

Charles was born on December 9, 1953, in Murphysboro, to Robert Fager and Norma (Schafer) Fager.

He had worked as a carpenter.

Mr. Fager was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Murphysboro. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus # 988.

He was a member of the Elk's Lodge # 572 in Murphysboro, where he was the 2015-2016 Elk of the Year. Then he was named the 2016 Elk of the Year for the Elk's Association for the State of Illinois.

Chuck loved to barbecue and he was a member of Tower Rock Barbecue Team. He was a member of the Old Rome Rollers Bocce Club.

He is survived by his mother, Norma of Murphysboro;

one brother David Fager of East Cape Girardeau, IL;

two sisters and brother in laws Donna and Heath Crow of Murphysboro and Carol and Randall Bastien of DuQuoin;

nine nieces and nephews Jessica (Eric) Knox, Jacqueline (Leonard) Walker, Jennah (Harvey) Smith, U.S. Army Capt. Aaron Kelley, U.S. Air Force CMSGT Patrick (Kelli) Kelley, Cory Kelley, Haylee Crow, Nolan (Jennifer) Bastien, Collin (Abby) Bastien;

twelve great nieces and great nephews Kiana Knox, Kailyn Knox, Kendall, Knox, L. J. Walker, Bryson Walker, Jayden Anders, Asiah Smith, Belle Kelley, Savannah Kelley, Robert Kelley, Avery Bastien, and Olivia Bastien.

He was preceded in death by his father.

A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2016, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, and burial will be at Zion Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday until 9:45 a.m. at Pettett Funeral Home, where an Elk's Memorial Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
