Obituary for Daniel Jule Fager

Daniel Jule  Fager
Daniel Jule Fager, 92, of DeSoto, passed away at 6:54 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2016, at his residence in DeSoto.

Daniel was born on January 10, 1924, at home in Jackson County, Illinois, to Ernest P. Fager and Alice R. (Mileur) Fager.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a farmer.

Mr. Fager was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post # 7190, American Legion Post # 127, and the Jackson County Farm Bureau.

Daniel Jule married Bonnie June Jacquot on July 8, 1950 at the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro, and she preceded him in death on June 16, 1993.

He is survived by five children and their spouses Prosper and Rose Fager and Danny Gale and Jill Fager, all of DeSoto, Ivalea and Keith Modglin of Vergennes, Alice and Bradley Morgan of Carlisle, PA, and Julia and Lance Bedar of Elkville;

ten grandchildren Hilary Eigenrauch, Laura Zulauf, Miranda Fager, Chelsea Hill, Joan McAlister, Lana Stanford, Tyler Morgan, Lance Morgan, Kara Bedar and Kylee Bedar;

nine great grandchildren;

one sister Clarice Arbeiter of Murphysboro and one brother Phillip Fager of Murphysboro.

He was preceded in death by three brothers Victor, Robert, and E. J. Fager and his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Pettett Funeral Home. Gravesite services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2016, at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park with Rev. Melissa Waterman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro.
