Alma L. Andress, 83, of Murphysboro, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2016, at the Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois.

Alma was born on January 4, 1933, in Murphysboro, to John Henry Ziegler and Martha (Rodewald ) Ziegler.

She had worked as a floor lady at the former Calcrest Factory in Murphysboro.

Mrs. Andress was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murphysboro.

Alma married Ralph E. Andress on January 4, 1958, in Murphysboro, and he preceded her in death on August 24, 2011.

She is survived by two sons and their wives Paul and Teresa Andress of Denton, TX, and Gary and Amanda Andress of Pittsburg, IL;

five grandchildren Payton Andress, P. J. Andress, Gabriel Wayne Andress, Wade Linkin Andress and Charles Edward Andress;

and one brother Harry Ziegler of Murphysboro.

She was preceded in death by three brothers Ruben, Leo, and Lawrence Ziegler, two sisters Amanda Todd and Lydia Lee, one half sister Edna Schade, and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2016, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Josemon Hoem officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
