Obituary for "Ray" (Leonard Ray) Tripp

"Ray" (Leonard Ray)  Tripp
Ray (Leonard Ray) Tripp, Sr., 81, of the Pomona area, passed away at 7:26 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015, at his residence.

Leonard Ray was born on October 30, 1933, in Pomona, Illinois, to Lloyd Tripp and Viola (Lindsey) Tripp.

After over twenty five years of work, he had retired as a propane gas delivery and serviceman.

He loved horses, including his first horse that he had Sensational Hobo, and his other horses Harley and Flicka.

Mr. Tripp was a member of the Congregational Pentecostal Church of Alto Pass.

Ray married Frieda Rains on February 1, 1955, in Murphysboro, and she survives.

Other survivors include four children Rayetta (Jeff) Scott of Cobden, Betty (Ron) McClain and Catherine Jackson, all of Murphysboro, and Beverly "Jody" (Tony Wright) Tripp of Alto Pass;

thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren and one on the way;

three brothers BIll Tripp of White Ash, TN, Darrel Tripp of Edwardsville, Phillip Tripp of Cobden;

two sisters Judy Knust and Lois Murphy, all of Murphysboro;

his adopted son Scott Hoyle of Cobden and a granddaughter, who helped take care of him, Kendall Wright of Cobden.

He was preceded in death by one son Leonard Ray Tripp, Jr. and one daughter Rebecca Nimmo, three brothers Lawrence, Merle, and Bud Tripp and his parent.
