Obituary for Mary I. Nesler (Kunce)
Mary I. Nesler, 83, of Murphysboro, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, at her residence in Murphysboro.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro, and burial at Walker Hill Cemetery in Grand Tower. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church or to the donor's choice. Mary was born on December 1, 1929, in Gorham, Illinois, to Millard James Kunce and Harriet (Nichols) Kunce.
She had been a hairdresser for over fifty years in Murphysboro.
Mrs. Nesler was a member of the First Christian Church in Murphysboro, and a member of the V.F.W. Post # 7190 Ladies Auxiliary.
She was an avid Cardinal fan and a very good bowler. She was also a collector of antiques.
She married Danny Nesler in Tennessee in October 4, 1948, and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons Jim Nesler of Murphysboro and David Nesler and his wife Sharon Nesler of Bourbonnais, IL;
four grandchildren Kelly Nesler and her husband Morgan Demling and Stacy Nesler, all of Murphysboro, Nicholas Nesler and his wife Kelly Nesler and Cory Nesler, all of Bourbonnais, IL;
and five great grandchildren Miah, Logan, Bailey, London, and Jase.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt Marie Reed.
