Celestine "Sally" A. Yates, age 88, of Murphysboro, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Friday, December 29, 2006, at the Oak Grove Nursing Home in Carbondale.
Celestine was born on August 14, 1918, in Murphysboro, to George W. Penrod and Laura (Graff) Penrod Williamson.
She was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church in Murphysboro.
Sally was a licensed practical nurse at the Jackson County Nursing Home in Murphysboro.
She married Arthur E. Yates on October 20, 1943, in Murphysboro, and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1998.
Sally is survived by two sons Patrick A. Yates and his wife Terri Yates of Murphysboro and Michael L. Yates and his companion Mary Falleta of Ava;
one granddaughter Heather Bean and her husband James Bean of Murphysboro;
two great granddaughters Madeline and Briana Bean of Murphysboro;
one brother Daniel G. Penrod of Cape Girardeau, MO; and one sister Doris Bloodworth, El Cajan, CA.
She was preceded in death by one sister Prudy Huppert and one brother George Penrod.
